Our Office manager, Sharon, keeps the office running smoothly - for our benefit and yours. She pays the bills and keeps track of the team. When she is not in the office, she enjoys flower gardening, shopping, and, along with her husband, attending their daughters' sports events.

At check-in, you meet Erika, who collects the information to make your visit go smoothly. She also cheerfully does what no one enjoys - collecting the co-pays that the government and insurance companies require. A recent University of Alabama graduate, Erika is engaged to be married next year. She and her husband-to-be are originally from Cullman and are excited to be back in this area.

At check-out, you see Kendra. She helps you schedule return appointments and makes sure the doctor's instructions, examination, and conclusions are accurately recorded. Kendra also helps with insurance. She, her husband, and their son love the outdoors - especially four-wheeling and fishing.

Elizabeth has held so many different positions in our office that she is one of the "go to" people. She gets the patients charts ready before they arrive. Elizabeth checks insurance to make sure the information is accurate and handles referrals to other doctors when needed. In her off time, she likes to read mysteries (solving the crime before the book's hero) and spend time at the lake with her husband and fourteen-year-old son.

Jill is our in-house computer trouble-shooter. She also schedules tests, such as MRIs and CTs, and schedules surgery. Like Elizabeth, she can fill various positions when others are sick or on vacation. Jill and her husband love to go and go and go. We think they may slow down someday, but not yet!

Insurance is often confusing, but Becky, our insurance expert, is knowledgeable and really wants to help both you and us. She is teasingly called "Mom-Becky" by many of our younger employees because she has a word of good, motherly advice when asked. Becky enjoys reading (something with a little romance), scrapbooking, and spending time with her husband and married daughter.

In "subwaiting", you meet Wendy. She will check your blood pressure and weight and remove stitches or casts to get you ready to see one of our doctors and nurses. Wendy goes to college part-time, working towards a degree in psychology. She and her husband are expecting their first baby. As you might guess, Wendy has no spare time.

Melony, our orthopedic nurse, has been with us for more than 10 years. She assists the doctor and usually knows what he needs before he asks. She returns the orthopedic patients' phone calls with answers to your questions, and for major cases, she "scrubs" with Dr. Bergquist and Dr. Hirsbrunner during surgery. Melony, her husband, and two children are active in their church and raise goats in their spare time. She always has a funny 'goat story' to share.

Our podiatric nurse, Lana, does the same for Dr. Araujo that Melony does for the orthopedic surgeons. She loves dealing with the patients. When not working, she can be found enjoying her four children and a grandson.

Our x-ray technician, Laure is excellent at getting the views that the doctors need to help diagnose your problem. People are a little shocked when she runs and hugs the UPS delivery man... until they find out that he is her husband. Outside the office, Laure enjoys reading and watching her children play sports.

Jan is our transcriptionist and was one of our earliest employees - having been with us since 1983. In her time off, she enjoys walking, camping, and spending time with her husband and grown daughters.
